If you want the card to feature you or your family, use a reference photo if image uploads are supported in your version of the tool. Ask Gemini to preserve recognizable facial features while creating the new design.

How to Get Better Results From Gemini
A good greeting card needs more than an attractive background. It should have a clear focal point, balanced colors, and enough space for the message. These tips can help you improve your results.
1. Describe the Style Clearly
Use terms such as “minimalist stationery design,” “luxury gold and black,” “photorealistic fireworks,” or “soft floral greeting card.” This helps establish a consistent visual direction.
2. Leave Space for the Greeting
If you plan to add a message later, explicitly request empty space near the top, bottom, or center. This is especially useful for designs with flowers, fireworks, or a family portrait.
3. Choose a Consistent Color Palette
Instead of mixing many unrelated colors, choose two or three main colors. Gold and black create a luxurious look, white and gold feel minimalist, while blue and silver can create a cool winter atmosphere.
4. Check the Image Before Sharing
Review the generated image for strange decorative objects, distorted faces, inconsistent details, or unwanted text. Generate another version or simplify the prompt if necessary.
5. Add the Final Text Separately
For an accurate greeting, add the final words using an image editor. This gives you control over spelling, font, color, and placement.
How to Add “Happy New Year 2027” to Your Greeting Card
You can use an image editor to add a short message after Gemini generates the background. Keep the wording easy to read and avoid covering the main visual elements.
Here are a few greeting ideas:
- Classic: Happy New Year 2027!
- Heartfelt: May 2027 Bring You Love, Peace, and Happiness.
- Inspirational: A New Year, A Fresh Start, A World of Possibilities.
- For Family: Wishing Our Loved Ones a Beautiful and Blessed 2027.
- For Friends: Cheers to More Laughter, Adventures, and Memories in 2027!
- Professional: Best Wishes for a Successful and Prosperous New Year.
Use a font that contrasts clearly with the background. White or gold lettering often works on dark backgrounds, while black or deep navy may be easier to read on pale designs.
Best Image Sizes for New Year Greeting Cards
The ideal image dimensions depend on how you intend to share the card.
- WhatsApp Status and Instagram Stories: 9:16 vertical.
- Instagram feed: 4:5 portrait or square.
- Facebook posts: Square or 4:5 portrait.
- Pinterest: 2:3 or 4:5 vertical.
- Website greeting card: Choose a portrait or landscape ratio that fits the page layout.
- Printed greeting cards: Use a high-resolution image and check the printer’s required dimensions and bleed settings.
If you want one design for multiple platforms, leave enough space around the main elements so you can crop the image without cutting off the greeting or decorations.
